A Journey Designed for Unforgettable Memories
Day 1: Shimla: Arrival & Sightseeing
Arrive at Delhi or Chandigarh and begin your scenic drive to Shimla, the colonial summer capital of India. Check in to your hotel and spend the evening exploring Mall Road, The Ridge, and Christ Church. Enjoy the cool mountain air and a relaxing overnight stay in Shimla.
Day 2: Shimla - Sangla
After breakfast, embark on a picturesque drive to Sangla, one of Kinnaur’s most beautiful valleys. Pass through Kufri, Narkanda, and Rampur, catching glimpses of orchards and snow-clad ridges. Arrive in Sangla by evening, check in to your hotel or camp, and enjoy the tranquil surroundings of the Baspa River Valley.
Day 3: Sangla - Local Excursion
After breakfast, head towards Chitkul, India’s last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the Baspa River, visit the wooden Mata Chitkul Temple, and take in the stunning valley views. Return to Sangla in the evening and relax amidst nature.
Day 4: Sangla - Nako - Giu - Tabo
Today’s journey marks your entry into the high-altitude desert of Spiti Valley. En route, visit Nako Lake, a peaceful village perched at 12,000 ft, and explore Giu Village, home to the mysterious naturally preserved mummy of a monk. Continue to Tabo, famous for its thousand-year-old monastery with ancient murals and frescoes. Overnight stay in Tabo.
Day 5: Tabo - Dhankar - Kaza
After breakfast, visit Dhankar Monastery, perched dramatically on a cliff overlooking the confluence of Spiti and Pin Rivers. Continue your drive to Kaza, the headquarters of Spiti Valley. Check in to your hotel and spend the evening exploring the peaceful town surrounded by towering mountains.
Day 6: Kaza - Kye, Chicham, Langza, Kibber
After breakfast, begin your full-day exploration of upper Spiti. Visit the legendary Key Monastery, perched dramatically on a hilltop overlooking the Spiti River. Continue to Chicham Bridge, one of Asia’s highest suspension bridges, before visiting Kibber Village, known for its stone houses and stunning views. End your day at Langza Village, famous for its giant Buddha statue and ancient fossils scattered across the slopes. Return to Kaza for the night.
Day 7: Kaza - Komic, Hikkim & Local Market
Today, visit the world’s highest villages — Komic and Hikkim. Drop a postcard from Hikkim’s world-famous post office and capture stunning panoramas of the Trans-Himalayas. Return to Kaza by afternoon and spend your evening exploring the vibrant Kaza Market for souvenirs and local crafts. Overnight stay in Kaza.
Day 8: Kaza - Kalpa
Start early for your return journey toward Kinnaur. Drive past the dramatic Khab Bridge, where the Spiti and Sutlej Rivers meet. By evening, reach Kalpa, known for its apple orchards and the stunning backdrop of the Kinner Kailash peaks. Overnight stay in Kalpa.
Day 9: Kalpa - Shimla
Wake up to a breathtaking sunrise over Kinner Kailash. After breakfast, drive back to Shimla, passing through Reckong Peo and Rampur. Reach Shimla by evening and spend your last night at leisure, reminiscing about the incredible journey.
Day 10: Shimla: Departure
After breakfast, begin your return drive to Delhi or Chandigarh. Bid farewell to the Himalayas, taking home memories of peaceful monasteries, winding valleys, and landscapes that change from lush green to desert brown — a true Himalayan odyssey.
