A Journey Designed for Unforgettable Memories
Day 1: Leh: Acclimatization
Arrive at Leh Airport, where the crisp mountain air and panoramic views welcome you. Check in to your hotel and spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude. In the evening, take a short walk through Leh Market or visit Shanti Stupa for sunset views. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 2: Leh: Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, explore Leh’s cultural highlights. Visit Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace, and Hemis Monastery, followed by Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa. In the evening, enjoy leisure time exploring Leh’s cafés and bazaars. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 3: Leh – Lamayuru – Wanla
After breakfast, drive westward toward Lamayuru, one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh, known for its moon-like landscapes. Visit Alchi Monastery and Magnetic Hill, where nature’s mysterious forces defy gravity. Continue to Wanla Village, a peaceful base surrounded by the rugged Zanskar mountains. Overnight stay in Wanla.
Day 4: Wanla – Lingshed (via Sirsir La & Singge La Passes)
After an early breakfast, begin the adventurous drive to Lingshed, crossing the mighty Sirsir La (15,700 ft) and Singge La (16,800 ft) passes. The route offers jaw-dropping Himalayan panoramas and glimpses of remote Zanskari life. Arrive at Lingshed Village, home to one of Ladakh’s oldest monasteries. Overnight stay in Lingshed.
Day 5: Lingshed – Padum
After breakfast, continue your journey toward Padum, the heart of Zanskar Valley. En route, stop to visit local villages and monasteries such as Karsha or Stongdey, which showcase centuries-old Tibetan Buddhist art and culture. Arrive in Padum by evening and check in to your guesthouse. Overnight stay in Padum.
Day 6: Padum – Zanskar Exploration
Spend the day exploring Padum and its surroundings. Visit Sani Monastery, one of the oldest monastic sites in Zanskar, and Stongde Monastery, perched dramatically on a hilltop. Wander through traditional Zanskari villages to experience the lifestyle of this isolated Himalayan community. Overnight stay in Padum.
Day 7: Padum – Rangdum
After breakfast, begin your return journey and drive toward Rangdum, a stunning high-altitude meadow surrounded by snow-clad peaks. Visit Rangdum Monastery, located in complete solitude amid breathtaking scenery. Overnight stay in Rangdum.
Day 8: Rangdum – Kargil
After breakfast, drive down from the remote Zanskar region to Kargil, the historic town on the Srinagar–Leh Highway. En route, stop at Pensi La Pass, which offers spectacular views of the Drang Drung Glacier, one of Ladakh’s largest. Arrive in Kargil and relax after a long yet rewarding day. Overnight stay in Kargil.
Day 9: Kargil – Leh (via Mulbekh & Magnetic Hill)
After breakfast, drive back to Leh, passing through Mulbekh, known for its ancient Maitreya Buddha rock carving. Stop at Magnetic Hill and the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers (Sangam Point) before arriving in Leh. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 10: Leh: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey, carrying home memories of the remote monasteries, dramatic passes, and untouched charm of Zanskar Valley — the hidden gem of Ladakh.
